To drive change towards universal coverage across cities, WSUP has produced a series of tools which analyse the challenges in urban areas, assist service providers to make operational improvements, and visualise what the goal of universal coverage looks like.

Utility Strengthening Framework

WSUP’s Utility Strengthening Framework provides a process by which water, sewerage and sanitation utilities can assess and improve all parts of their operations, to enable them to improve services to low-income customers.

Citywide Surveys

To gain an insight into inequalities in access to water and sanitation services, WSUP has conducted citywide household surveys in seven cities in Africa and Asia. This rich data includes detailed information on the services used by each household.

We make this data freely available to policymakers and other partners in each city through an online dashboard, to help with their planning and analysis.
