WSUP has been working with STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! since 2016.
STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! believes it is not only important to save water, but also to donate water. As there are still one billion people who have no access to clean and safe drinking water, they decided to do something about it.
Through its “Good Water Projects” initiative, STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! funded a water kiosk in Madagascar which provides up to 500 families, in urban areas of Antananarivo, with clean drinking water every day. In addition to the supply of safe drinking water, the project has created new jobs and promotes a sustainable local economy.
Following on from success of this project STOP THE WATER WHILE USING ME! created a limited edition Lemon Honey soap and donated 5% of the profits raised to WSUP.
When we did our research for our new “Good Water Project” in summer 2016, we discovered that in the capital of Madagascar roughly 2/3 of the population lack access to safe drinking water.
When we heard about the work of WSUP and the water kiosk system they use, we really wanted to be part of the project. The idea to extend the municipal water supply network to provide low-income areas not only with fresh water but also with hygiene and maintenance training as well as management courses for the kiosk operators is something we felt we just had to be part of.
The way in which WSUP views the WASH problem in its entirety was a key fact in our decision to support them. It’s not only about providing water; it’s about providing a long-term solution for a sustainable change.
