As Mozambique’s Sanitation Lead, Omar Khan is responsible for developing and managing the country sanitation portfolio for urban areas of Maputo and Beira, ensuring effective and efficient use of the programme resources to achieve agreed objectives and timely delivery of projects. He is also responsible for developing the capacity of programme partners, as well as assisting with relevant institutional strengthening activities, in close collaboration with the utilities, community stakeholders, small scale service providers, the water and sanitation regulator, and local government actors in the cities. Omar holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc degree in Water Sciences and Engineering. He joined the WSUP team in 2021.
