This newly-created role is reflective of the scale of our ambitions and will play a critical part in WSUP’s growth and achievement of its overall objectives, and help raise WSUP’s profile both on the global stage and as an employer brand. With a new business plan in place, the Head of Communications will work closely with the Director, Partnerships & Development to develop and implement an innovative, integrated global communications strategy, define and deliver a consistent and effective brand identity and a programme of compelling external and internal communications including print and digital media, campaigns and events.

 

This role will suit an ambitious, entrepreneurial and experienced communications professional with a track record of planning and delivering successful communications activities for a global audience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and sharing information, as well as demonstrable experience of producing engaging material, managing a number of digital communications channels, and evaluating the successes and establishing key learning points.​

This team member will play a key role in the management of WSUP’s ongoing work with The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF) and its partner Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF) through the management of a portfolio of awards being delivered across WSUP programme countries. The role will include management of TCCAF and assigned programme funding, award management and leading on donor relations for related country programmes. The role will work closely with the Head of Funding, Programme Directors and Country Teams to develop donor-specific country plans, regular reports, ensure compliance and lead of future proposals and funding continuation plans.

The role is ideal for an ambitious, proactive international development programme management and funding professional with strong experience of successfully managing grants and contracts from institutional donors and major foundations as well as leading on donor relations, partnership development and stakeholder communications. Previous experience working with international development country programmes and projects in Africa and South Asia is desirable. WSUP is a dynamic organisation and the role would suit someone with an entrepreneurial and innovative approach.
