World Water Day 2011: WSUP's 'Call to Action'
To mark World Water Day 2011, WSUP is calling on all people interested in the sector to join in a global 'Call to Action' to mobilise funding to improve urban sanitation.
WSUP and its partners have compiled two documents:
Call to Action: Supporting sustainable slum sanitation - the case for more investment from IFIs and donors
This document is targeted at governments, funding institutions and other decision makers and provides the case for investment in urban sanitation. It argues that investing in sanitation is one of the most cost effective means of improving health.
Mobilising Funding for Urban Sanitation
Answers to the question: Why and how would I invest in sanitation?
This document is targeted at sector advocates and provides clear and compelling messages for:
- Householders
- Landlords
- Water Utilities
- Private Sector
- Governments and Municipalities
- IFIs
Please join us in distributing these messages across your networks and join our efforts to mobilise the sector to invest more in sanitation!
