Member Interests
WSUP maintains two procedures to deal with potential conflicts of interest:
- In signing the membership documents, new members declare their adherence to WSUP's business ethics policy.
- Members declare potential conflicts of interest at the start of each Board Meeting. If a member’s interests are deemed to be in conflict with either the WSUP business ethics policy or wider WSUP interests in respect of any given project, the WSUP Board would decide if that member should be excluded either from that decision or from involvement in that project.
WSUP Board meeting minutes are in the public domain. WSUP business members do not participate in tendering for, or delivery of, the infrastructure components of projects.
Member Staff Rates
Member staff are contracted through the secretariat to work on projects on a not-for-profit, cost-recovery basis. Contract rates are calculated at a day rate made up of the individual’s cost (this varies according to skills/seniority), salary on-costs (i.e. benefits, overheads) and VAT where applicable. Travel, accommodation and subsistence are billed at cost.
